Welcome to Kristy de Vries

Salsarian since October 2019

We’d like to welcome Kristy de Vries to the Salsa team. Kristy is taking on a position in developer relations and engagement management. This is an interdisciplinary role combining product, marketing and web engineering. Kristy will be responsible for organising Salsa’s Drupal Meetups and other community events. She will be the eyes and ears for Salsa and the GovCMS community, helping to troubleshoot and debug technical problems, and advocate for the needs of the developer community and internal staff.

As an engagement manager, Kristy will work with clients from discovery to delivery to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget. Kristy is also especially keen to work in the UX space and will be working on this aspect for career development.

Kristy is based in the Melbourne Salsa office.

About Kristy

Kristy has over five years’ experience working in the digital industry and over 10 years’ experience in customer-centric roles. She is a self-taught web developer, and has completed short courses in user experience design and design thinking. Kristy is also a freelance web developer, working primarily to support NGOs and research facilities.

Kristy started her career in the digital industry as a web developer and project coordinator for Orange Digital. She then moved to Acquia as a senior support engineer and was working at Doghouse Agency as a technical account manager before joining Salsa.

Why Salsa?

Kristy had met Alfred at a DrupalSouth event, and knew other Salsa staff because she’d worked with them at Acquia. “I was working in support and wanted to move back into agency land.” Kristy was living in Brisbane at the time, but happy to move. “I was referred to Alfred and interviewed, but there wasn’t a role at Salsa.” A few months later Kristy moved to Melbourne for another role, and then decided to reach out to Salsa again -- and there was a job. “I was attracted to the Salsa culture and I really like Alfred. We also have really nice clients!”

Kristy lives in the Wilsmere Estates in Kew (the old insane asylum!), surrounded by parks and the bike trails of Yarra Bend. Welcome Kristy! View Kristy’s Salsa profile.
