At DrupalSouth Canberra 2018

We’re in full Drupal South mode at the moment, with the Canberra event less than two weeks away. It’s going to be a busy and exciting couple of days for us, with Salsa team members involved in five sessions.

Salsa Digital 22 November 2018

DrupalSouth Canberra 2018, 3-5 December

We’re counting down the days until DrupalSouth Canberra. It’s sure to be a massive event and we can’t wait to be surrounded by open source and open government aficionados.

We’re also excited to be hosting the opening night drinks.

Our sessions

This year we’ve got a busy one, with five sessions across the two days, and across the different tracks.

Monday 3 December

  1. Partnering with vendors for agile success, 9am-9.45am, room 4. How did a regional QLD uni and an experienced Drupal consultancy (that’s us) use the agile process to solve common problems like resourcing and delivering a complex project in a short time frame? Speakers: Antoine Osanz (Salsa) and Elisha Hulme (University of Southern Queensland).

  2. Delivering to a budget with agile - fixed budget, controlled scope, 12.15pm-12.35pm, room 1. Key lessons learned from delivering agile in the real world of fixed budgets and fixed expectations. Speaker: Juliane Erben (Salsa).

Tuesday 4 December

  1. Open source for open government - panel discussion, 11.15am-12pm, room 3. Open government promotes transparency, citizen participation/collaboration and accountability to produce better governments. Here in Australia we’re making headway in the digital arena to drive positive change and contribute to the open government movement. Speakers: Alfred Deeb (Salsa), Sharyn Clarkson (Department of Finance), Nathan Wall (Department of Finance), Jithma Beneragama (Department of Premier and Cabinet — Victoria) and Amber Benjafield (Department of Premier and Cabinet — Victoria).

  2. Remote working - What, why, why not and how - panel discussion, 2pm-2.45pm, room 4. Why hire remote, how to choose remote team members, making remote teams tick, and more. Speakers: Amber Benjafield (Department of Premier and Cabinet — Victoria), Suchi Garg (Salsa), Jason Coghlan (Previous Next), Piyush Poddar (Axelerant), and Bevan W (Catalyst)

  3. Migrations at scale, 3.00 pm-3.40pm, room 2. Using AWX-based runners and building an automated workflow to easily migrate GovCMS SaaS and PaaS sites from Acquia to Lagoon. Speakers: Alex Skrypnyk and Stuart Rowlands (Salsa).

Our sponsorship

Salsa and our open platform partner amazee.io are also Gold sponsors this year. We’re excited to be on the ground, sponsoring the event. We’re also hosting the opening night cocktail session from 5-7pm at Hotel Realm Sydney and Melbourne Foyers.

See you in Canberra

If you’re going to DrupalSouth we look forward to catching up...in between sessions, at the cocktail night or at our booth. See you then.
