Our AWS Migration Story

The Challenge

While our legacy hosting had served us well for several years, we found ourselves in a position of having outgrown it, eager for a more advanced service offering that met the demands of the present day – cost-efficiency, reliable uptime, consumption-based billing, auto-scalability, 24x7 enterprise support. In addition, in order to service our long-term clients, we needed better visibility on and control over the infrastructure, as well as a partner that was proactive about infrastructure maintenance and patch management.

The Solution

Upon taking inventory of the above, as well as our existing and future needs, we decided to go with an AWS and partner solution. We worked closely with BulletProof (AWS Premier Consulting Partner) to design, configure, setup and migrate all existing clients to AWS infrastructure. We took this opportunity to also optimize the Joomla, Wordpress, Drupal & Magento application stack whenever possible.

A rigorous process, including inventorisation, communication and regression testing took place to ensure the success of each AWS migrated client.

The Benefits

The positive results of this undertaking have been realised immediately, including significant reduction in TCO (appox 70%) and 99.95% Uptime SLA. On top of this, operating with consumption based billing, consumption-based management, auto scaling, 24x7 support, and an excellent relationship and support with both Bulletproof and AWS, has given us a far better supported solution for our clients.
